Welcome to Science

BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK 12TH TO 16TH MARCH 2018

Activities are taking place, all week, at lunchtime in the Science Department.

Monday 12th March - Making Slime – Come and investigate how to make different slimes. What can you add to make it really stretchy or gooey?

Tuesday 13th March - Dry ice – Can you make ice cream? How can we make metal sing? Can you make a drink fizz? Come along and find out.

Wednesday 14th March - Making plastic from milk – Can you get some plastic out of milk? This was the basis for making plastic out of milk in the early 20th century. Mould your own piece of plastic that you can take away with you.

Thursday 15th March - Whizzes and Bangs – All the big explosions and fun demos you always wanted to do: make a jelly baby scream, see how Harry Potter travels by floo powder and set a teacher on fire.

Friday 16th March - Scrapheap Challenge – Who can make the most interesting and useful item from a load of scrap? The only limit is your own imagination – prizes are available for the best creations.

See the noticeboard in the Science Department for more information.
